Getting to our Playa Negra home for rent by owner:
To reach Playa Negra, Costa Rica from Liberia Airport (LIR)  is just a matter of heading South
towards Santa Cruz, & just before the town of Santa Cruz, heading West towards Paraiso.
Playa Negra is 10 minutes past Paraiso.

San Jose is a 4.5 hour drive. Although we recommend a rental car, we do have a trusted taxi
driver that will pick you up  from San Jose airport if you want to rest here around town without
many day trips. Taxi van (space for boards) Round-trip from San Jose is approximately $300
($150 each way). Taca, Spirit and numerous other airlines fly into Costa Rica. Tickets are
usually less expensive into San Jose than into Liberia.
Taxi's to and from the Tamarindo airport and town are available for approximately $70
round-trip.
Sansa and Nature air (Costa Rican airlines) both fly several times daily from San
Jose to Tamarindo in about an hour
. More "travel in Costa Rica" information

The drive to Playa Negra House from Liberia is
about 1.5 hours with the newly graded roads
and additional paving completed in the last year.
We do advise a rental car, but can also
recommend a trusted taxi driver who will greet
you in Liberia. $90. Delta, Continental, American
Airlines and Frontier all fly into LIR airport.

Playa Junquillal is a graphite sand beach
15 minutes drive from our home. It has a
great beach break similar to surfing the
Outer Banks of NC in the US. It is also a
wonderful beach for children to play on.
Playa Avellanas is another
favorite family beach, a
short 10 minute drive from
our vacation rental in
Guanacaste. Lola's
Restaurant under the
palms, overlooks multiple
surf breaks, and stretches
of white sand beaches
with lots of seashells.
Playa Negra Surfing Break is walking 5-7 minutes south
of our Playa Negra House for Rent. There is a sunbathing
& swimming beach next to the reef break. The beach
stretches for about 30 minutes walk to Playa Blanca.
Sandy Beach is perfect for swimming
and learning to body board, paddle
board or surf;  just a minute walk from
Playa Negra Surf Break. Enjoy meals,
smoothies & drinks at the Playa Negra
Hotel in front of the beach.

A very mellow day of small waves
(check out the photo on top right of

plenty of fun.

different around every turn. This
horsey was hanging out at low tide
while his owner fished. Horseback
rides are available.
